Who Wouldn’t Want to Watch BattleStar Galactica on Demand?
It sure seems like it's taken a long time, but it seems like the big television content providers are finally starting to get the message. That message being, that we the consumers don't want to watch television on their schedule. We want to be able to watch television on laptops, are smart phones, on our televisions, and anywhere we want, including the beach. One of my favorite television show...
Choosing a Replica Watch as a Gift
If you wear imitation timepieces, than you definitely know that a replica watch is a truly fantastic timepiece. You are happy with your watches and you want to make your friend or beloved person happy too. A replica watch (Bentley timepiece duplicate, A.Lange&Sohne replica, Baume&Mercier replica or famous Cosmograph Gold copy) is a really nice gift, however, like any other gift, a replica watch mu...

The Gleeful Sounds Of High School Teenagers
I must admit, to having a fascination with musicals.  It doesn't matter whether their on television, at the movies, or in live theater.  I'm a sucker for them.  I think it started with MTV, back in the early 1980's.  1982 or 83 I think it was when they launched.  Music videos are really just little musicals on their own.  Kind of like the short films of the big screen genre.  Some of the fa...
Naruto Battle Music
As you probably know from watching a number of episodes from Naruto (or the second series Naruto Shippuden), it has some of the most dramatic and huge fight scenes ever seen in an anime. I have to say, fights between ninjas occur frequently throughout the series. Regardless of whether it is a one-on-one fight or a battle sequence involving numerous ninja instructors, students and ANBU, the crea...
Louis Vuitton Replica Handbag
You are ready for your night out on the town, and you are admiring yourself in the mirror. You have your earrings, you have your shoes, you have your outfit, and all of it matches perfectly, and might even all be from the same designer, Louis Vuitton. So what are you missing from this nice wardrobe? Well, it appears that you do not have a matching handbag. However, how much money do you have left ...
Ever Had One Of Those Hangovers?
The movie Hangover is supposedly the highest grossing R rated movie ever produced.  It was one of those movies that greatly exceeded expectations to be sure.  Considering that it is a movie that pushes the boundaries of what could be considered good taste, makes it even more surprising as a box office success.  At least to some.  Every once in a while, there are those movies that take a chance...
Up Up And Away
I was set up a bit for this movie by others who had seen it first and kind of fed my some erroneous spoilers.  Someone told me it was very sad and the dog died.  So, I kept waiting for the dog (of which there are many) to die, and it never did.  It was a bit sad at the beginning, but not too much as it involves a character the audience doesn't get too heavily invested in, and incurs in the firs...
Avatar Does 3D The Right Way
I've seen plenty of 3D movies.  Even long ago when they were a brand new novelty, before they fell out of fashion.  Over the last few years, it's been interesting to see many movies makers use of 3D technology, as an attempt to woo movie watchers from their comfy home theaters into the local cineplex.  After all, it's hard to gouge a paying customer for popcorn and a coke when their sitting at ...

Watching Funny Movies Is Serious Business

Posted By: admin on March 23, 2010 in Comedy - Comments: 1 Comment »

OK, I admit that comedy movies are not always my first choice, when I go looking for movies to watch.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’m a humorless cad or anything, it’s just that it seems harder and harder to find good movies to watch.  Or perhaps it could be that my sense of humor is getting a little stranger and harder to please as I gradually grow older.   I do love a good laugh in movies, but I have certain criteria I expect from the humor.

I like to watch movies online, and here’s a few things I do find particularly funny in the movies I’ve seen of late.  Quite often, I find humor in the most unexpected places.  Take for example the movie Julie & Julia staring Meryl Streep.  A somewhat funny movie, that was meant more as a autobiography of the lady Julie that wrote a blog about working through Julia Childs famous cookbook. There was one scene in here that I found incredibly funny.  The one that culminates with Julia Child (Meryl Streep) chopping a mountain full of onions in her kitchen as her husband returns home from work.

What makes it funny though, is not that final scene, but the scenes leading up to it.  Julia has enrolled herself at a very prestigious cooking school, and found herself with the daunting taking of keeping up with an all male student body of some obviously very experienced chefs.  Even learning the simple task of rapidly chopping onions at school, is one that she barely manages to perform well in comparison to the other cooks.  But, here determination is apparent.  So, she decides to practice at home, and must have chopped bushels of onions when we see her in the kitchen.  One can only imagine how impregnated the air must be with the stinging bite of onions.  But not to be deterred, she carries on.

What makes the scene even funnier, is when her husband comes home, and is completely bowled over as he approaches the door to the kitchen.  While I found the scene hilariously funny, I must admit to being the only person in the room who did.  So, maybe it is me after all.  So, if your looking to test out your funny bone, then maybe The Spy Next Door would be a good choice.  Jackie Chan always seems to get a chuckle or two out of me.

I love Jackie Chan movies, and The Spy Next Door is one of my favorites. Julie & Julia is not bad either but I kind of lost interest watching midway. Just as there are many options for hand finished rings, there are also a number of comedy films that you should check out, but you can start with these two.
