I have to say, fights between ninjas occur frequently throughout the series.

Regardless of whether it is a one-on-one fight or a battle sequence involving numerous ninja instructors, students and ANBU, the creator and writer, Masashi Kishimoto is able to convey the physical (as well as emotional) struggle and effort exerted by the characters. The fighting concepts expressed are very creative and the animation of the sequences is superb.

Making the fights more engaging is the music. The Naruto battle music has strong Japanese rock influence. For those interested to know the most popular fight music used in Naruto, they are Strong and Strike, Naruto Main Theme and The Raising Fighting Spirit, all of which can be found in the first Naruto OST.

I must admit that when progressing to the newer series in which Naruto and all his friends have grown up (in their late teens), the music has changed to be more Japanese pop and less of the Japanese rock that fans may be more used to in the first series. Even in Naruto Shippuden episode 1 English or Japanese, this switch in music choice is evident. Regardless, I personally like the group of songs that have been used.

The mood set by the music during the battle sequences for the newer series is still as good as in the first series. So the music matches well with the dramatic fights – the quality has not drop a single bit. As a matter of fact, since the characters has gave grown, so have their abilities. This means that the fights are even better than ever before. The accompanying music definitely reflects the growth in the characters.
